Anna-Sofia Anttonen is a versatile saxophone player from Helsinki, Finland. Currently she finishing her masters degree at the Sibelius Academy, working as a freelance musician and teaching saxophone in Nurmijärvi Music Institute. She is interested especially in contemporary music and working with composers, in ensembles and solo. She is at home combining high quality music with other fields of art and interested in collaborating with scientists as well.
Recently Anna-Sofia has been on stage as a solo saxophonist in the Finnish National Opera’s production CircOpera. She also played a role of a solo saxophone player in TTT-theater’s production Miss Julie, performing music especially composed for the production by Juhani Nuorvala.
Anna-Sofia has studied with Joonatan Rautiola and Pekka Savijoki. She also spent one year in the Mallorca Saxophone Studio with Rodrigo Vila and David Brutti, where she received lessons also on free improvisation from François Rossé. She has attended numerous international saxophone masterclasses.
